Specifications:
Lift every voice and sing till the earth and heaven ring, ring with the harmonies of Liberty; let our rejoicing rise high as the listening skies, let it resound loud as the rolling sea. Sing a song full of the faith that the dark past has taught us, facing the rising sun of our new day begun let us march on till victory is won.
James Weldon Johnson's most famous poem, "Lift Every Voice and Sing," written in the 1900 and set to music by his brother Rosamond, quickly became known as the Negro National Anthem. The stirring words, woven into this coverlet design, express the history and the hopes of African-Americans to this day.
